Our latest beauty favorite: Nopeg, a haven of natural well-being in the heart of Paris

Welcome to Nopeg, a tangy and woody cocoon dedicated to organic well-being, in the charming neighborhood of Montorgueil in Paris!

Follow with us Frédéric Fabiani, the fascinating and passionate founder of this organic cosmetics boutique, while he shows us around his boutique.

Setting the scene …

“You must absolutely meet him, you’ll see…” people told us repeatedly. And surely enough, we met a committed person, in love with his job. A man who loves people and who tells them with creams, oils and skincares…

Former sales manager in tobacco industry (!), Frédéric resigned after 10 years of good and faithful service “to return to more ethical values, in line with his personal beliefs.”

Born in the French Alps, he was raised since his youngest age in an environment where natural beauty and health prevailed. As physical education teachers, his parents brought him up to essential oils, Bach flowers and gemmotherapy (to make simple, let’s say it’s a therapy based on the maceration of plant and flower buds).

There was thus only one (big) step to make to change career paths!

And he made it … After training to aromacology, gemmotherapy, shiatsu and Bach flowers, Frédéric partnered with a pharmacist friend specialized of floral elixirs and took the jump. It’s thus as a true and legitimate expert that he opened Nopeg two years ago.

Beauty is a whole. At Nopeg, every floor has its reason for being.

At Nopeg, beauty and well-being result from a clever combination between cosmetics and skincares.

Once inside, you discover a wide range of organic cosmetic products… not to say the cream of organic cosmetic products… Amongst the best-sellers: Dr Hauschka, Clé des Champs and Iroisie, but also Ekia, Aïny, Calinesse and Patika.

After a flight of steps, you’ll find yourself in a space dedicated to aromatherapy (showcasing a selection of 80 essential oils illustrated with explanatory boards), gemmotherapy and food complements. This is the health floor.

Finally, “The Boudoir”, on the last level. In this area dedicated to well-being, two carefully decorated cabins welcome us in a soothing atmosphere for Clé des Champs (inspired by Chinese traditional medicine) and Iroisie (whose exclusive formulae associate marine and botanical ingredients) skincares.

We were especially intrigued by the Aculifting, the acupuncture face-lift by Céline Claret-Coquet’s, founder of Clé des Champs and Chinese energetics therapist, on the menu.

A meticulous selection

You don’t have any time to spare to check the ingredients in the products you buy? Frédéric will do all the work for you… and explain it all! But for him (and for us too!) being organic-certified is not enough: it’s essential to retain the same feeling of pleasure that conventional brands provide.

The selection is thus very rigorous and about fifty criteria are checked, amongst which the brand’s promise, the active principles’ performance, the quality of textures and smells, the brand’s commitment to organic certification and fair-trade, environment-friendly packaging etc….

Nopeg … What does it mean?

Educating, that’s the goal that Nopeg has set itself.

No-Peg stands short for “No Polyethylene Glycol”. Frédéric wanted to attract attention on this emulsifier (derived from fighting gas!) present in most conventional cosmetics, which is both dangerous for health and for the environment (cannot be dissolved once it’s produced).

“We always explain the composition and actions of the products that we offer but also how to use them properly. We often spend up to one hour with a given customer! “

Workshops and round-tables are also organized each month: you want to find out more about essential oils and their properties, have a better understanding of organic certifications or learn the basics of gemmotherapy? Experts come to you at the boutique to explain it all!

A committed and captivating man!

Frédéric Fabiani - fondateur de nopeg

“I am in favor of consumption. Without it, we’d leave too many people on the side of the road … But I am in favor of responsible and guilt-free consumption. I believe in businesses that grow while respecting individuals and the environment.”

“Many organic cosmetic brands have taken the wrong track: being organic is not an end in itself! It’s above all the efficiency of a product and the well-being it brings that counts. That’s why we value brands that meet these expectations in an ethical and environment-friendly way.”

Well, there’s little more to add… unless to say that we are completely in line with Frédéric!

The truth lies in three words: beauty, organics and above all… PLEASURE!
