HERITAGE Paris: the cream of bespoke bicycles showcased at “Centre Commercial”

With such sunny weather, it’s difficult to resist the envy of a bike ride to wander around Paris.

But we have to admit that we’d happily trade our good old Vélibs’ (public bicycles) against agile and efficient 2-wheelers… fuel-free, of course!!

We were therefore very eager yesterday evening to discover HERITAGE Paris’s first collection of entirely made-to-measure bikes at the opening party organized at Centre Commercial (Veja founders’ concept-store in Paris).

So, here’s in a nutshell a short feedback of our discoveries of the evening…

__

The know-how in inheritance …

HERITAGE Paris was founded by Cyril Saulnier and Alexandre and Simon Billard, three bike lovers. Convinced that globalization is not a fate and that there are still amateurs of beautiful things, the trio decided to restore the mythical pedaling device’s former glory by manufacturing unique high-end pieces.

With the ex-racing cyclist and highly skilled craftsman Daniel Hanart in command of the workshop, the young Parisian label brings back to life the know-how of bicycle frame artisans – a traditional French craft that has progressively fallen into oblivion with the generalization of mass production.

Customization as a trademark …

With the goal of creating “the bike of your dreams” in mind, HERITAGE embeds customization at each step of their production process. At the height of luxury, HERITAGE uses your exact measurements to build a frame that’ll be perfectly adapted to your morphology. Your pedaling comfort and efficiency will be maximized!

You can also equip your bike with a multitude of sharp accessories: state-of-the art Japanese handlebars, leather saddles in the purest English tradition… all combinations are possible.

And icing on the cake, the brand also suggests that you customize your bike selecting the colors and finishing touches of your choice. You were dreaming of owning a yellow polka dot bike? It’s time to let yourself go!

Finally, you’re given the opportunity to follow the different manufacturing stages of your bike on the brand’s website. From the reception of the spare parts, to the construction of the frame, up until the final painting finishings, you can follow the elaboration of your mount on-line.

In these conditions, it’s very attractive to say goodbye to your old 2 wheeler…

The result live …

So it’s in a Centre Commercial literally swarming with people that we discovered a few of the brand’s remarkable specimens, which were beautifully staged for the event. Here are a few shots:

Well… we’ll have to drop by again to try them! Let’s bet though that these dashing mounts will have found themselves happy owners in no time…

C’est super cette idée de vélos sur mesure qui ne pésent pas 3 tonnes comme les Velibs, j’y cours en espérant que les prix seront aussi… “légers”.

  5. WOW. These are beautiful bikes from a talented producer. I wish it was time “to let myself go” and get my polka dot bike but I am curious what the price range of these bikes are? How high end are they? The quality is clearly there but I am curious about the production costs of English saddles and Japanese handle bars.
