Is Emma Watson the new rising green it-girl?
In any case, the young English actress has continued to build her green icon status with the release of the eco-friendly capsule collection “Pure Threads” that she imagined with Alberta Ferretti, the famous Italian luxury ready-to-wear label.
The wish of the young budding designer: “Bring sustainable fashion to a more fashion-forward level.”
Emma drew her inspiration to create the 5 pieces of “Pure Threads” from the seventies period of the legendary English singer and actress, Jane Birkin.

The capsule collection, made out of organic cotton poplin and muslin as well as hemp, features a pair of denim shorts, a blouse, two dresses and a long skirt.
We like the refreshing and romantic style of these designs that bring a spring breeze onto the 2011 Spring-Summer season.

Our very favorite look? The denim shorts and embroidered white blouse outfit that will definitely give us a bohemian-chic edge this summer!

The actress, who embodies Hermione in Harry Potter’s adventures on screen, is far from being a novice in the fashion arena.
Embassador of Burberry and the new face of Lancôme, Emma Watson has already tangled with fashion design during her ongoing 3-year collaboration with the British fair-trade fashion pioneer, People Tree.
“I’m pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes. I believe this is a big step forward for all of the international fashion industry, but also an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology,” said Emma to the on-line fashion magazine, WWD.

Emma hasn’t forgotten her first fashion love. Part of the proceeds from the pieces (whose prices range between circa 250 and 850 euros) will be donated to People Tree’s foundation, for which she still creates designs.
We all aspire from time to time to purchase a beautiful and long-lasting piece to revamp our wardrobes… so let’s capitalize on the season change to do a little spring cleaning and add a touch of green luxury to our closets!
